Parents Are Artisans – Making Beautiful Sculptures For The Future

Children are what we make them. Those soft bundles of clay have quite a great alikeness with our little tots.
Our hands can curve, arch and contour them just like the beautiful pottery artifacts blinking their face from the corners which are delight to our eyes and a treat to our senses.

Restless Kids - Parents Are Artisans - Making Beautiful Sculptures For The Future

It’s not at all about thrusting ourselves on those small petite shoulders but showing them a path which would always help them to be at peace and teach them to hold on to their calmness amidst the stormy path of their lives. Life is all about sailing across the wind with a smile. We now realize it as adults.

So my personal research, positive parenting tutorial and study has come to a conclusion that kids can be taught some art in developing those basic skills which would help them to hold the pillars of serenity and calmness at different stage.

A child is found to be restless all the time, eyes hovering around and that mischievous mind always delineating some acts… why not try to concentrate and conjure on that mammoth source of energy which is so bountiful among these tiny tots.

A few tips to handle the restless behavioural pattern.
The very base needs trimming and pruning instead of finding the loopholes later on. Adults are what we make them.

1) Right from the age of 10, yoga lessons with mild yoga exercise should be inculcated among kids. It helps in calming the mind. The very onset of puberty or adolescence is in itself a turbulent phase so why not start off with a little preparation earlier.

2) Induce mediation techniques at home, very basic form of the meditative methods with slight inhaling and exhaling of breathe helps to pacify the mind and increase the concentration level. Meditation is just not confined to spiritual growth but it is an overall medicinal therapy to deal with mind. What better way to tame the mind… a child can master the game and the remote control to the mind would be in his or her own hands.

3) Music therapy helps the child a lot to concentrate on anything and everything right from doing maths to exploring his or her emotions rather than out bursting it to the world. Gentle soft background music is always healing to those ears; they may not sit back to listen but the vibrations does do wonders.

4) Keeping lots of books in the book shelf to induce reading. Reading is a great virtue; it distracts the mind from the nonessential, undesirable things.

5) Some spiritual words, a tete-a tete about the great spiritual minds, tit-bits of moral lessons through stories would help the child to develop a character which would help him or her to cling to one’s positivity always. Believing in divinity and humanity is always a virtue and teaching the same a greater bliss.

The basic lack of values in our society is causing such erosion in modern times. Let’s make our foundation strong. Let’s artfully make those clay bundles a thing of pleasure and beauty forever. Let’s start our role as an artisan from today.
